welcome mama.

The last few years have been hard.

I had so many things planned for my mamas and their new babes - maternity pictures, newborn sessions, and anything and everything in between. We were stoked to capture it all. But then this pandemic struck and all of those plans fell through. Actually, most of the plans far beyond photos fell through. I can't go back and change any of that - no matter how I wish I could make it the experience you all had ever dreamed of. But I can use my art to capture your healthy, beautiful baby now.

I can freeze those little hands - hands that are going to grab hold of this world and make it their own.

I can freeze little toes - toes that will someday leave footprints throughout the house.

I can freeze those chunky thighs - thighs that will eventually lean out into toddlers.

I can freeze momma and dada's hands - hands that will bring comfort and love throughout every up and down of their babe’s life. Hands that will cook and clean. Hands that will wipe dirt off of scuffed knees and tears from a broken heart. Hands that will shape this little babe’s world and fill it with all the love + laughter.

I can't go back and change anything - but I can capture every detail of the now.

Lifestyle newborn sessions are quite simply an in home session. There are a couple of reasons behind this - the first being that I am a freelance photographer so I don’t have a studio home base. But the main reason, the reason close to my heart is that I don’t like picture perfect sessions - I love the nitty gritty, the real and raw, the intimate moments. I am here for the real real -

the crying baby

the curious pet

the messy kitchen

the sleep deprived parents.

I strive to capture your little family with the newest nugget in their very first home, while also freezing little memories in place so when the fog of no sleep lifts, you will able to look back with fondness.

So what exactly is a lifestyle newborn session?!

 “But where will we shoot?

My house isn’t aesthetically pretty and I just can’t see it being a good backdrop.”

I get this question more often than not. My answer is this: I'm not here to capture the aesthetically pleasing backdrop, I am here to capture your beautiful family. But you give me a space with just a little bit of natural light and we can create magic. Honestly, you give me your full blown trust and anything is possible.

But to give you some ideas - some clients choose to shoot in the nursery. Some choose to shoot in their bedroom. Others choose the living room. It’s truly wherever you feel most comfortable.

Are we in the photos or is it just of the baby?

It’s truly whatever you prefer. Typically parents are in them.

A general shot list is the entire family together, each parent holding the babe, siblings if that’s applicable, and then just the newest member. I bring with me a whole arsenal of things at your disposal - blankets, swaddles, bows, baskets, etc. I am also more than open to use whatever you have as well! I try to minimize the props just for the mere fact of keeping the session simple and about you guys rather than extra stuff.

I would love to work with you to bring all that you have ever envisioned into fruition - reach out, let’s chat.

“Emilee is truly such an amazing photographer, her skill speaks for itself but finding a photographer who makes you feel so comfortable when you’re newly postpartum is unmatched. She came to do my daughters newborn session 2 weeks after she was born & it was such a fun & joyful experience (even with a crying baby).

She was so patient and confident while moving around, fixing & situating my daughter. I am SO thankful to have such an amazing photographer to count on & trust! That session was a treasured memory for me that reflects in her photos-photos that I will look back on for the rest of my life. I can’t recommend her enough, you will NEVER be disappointed! I’m so excited for more sessions to come throughout my daughters life.”

“When you hire a photographer to take photos of your family, you want the best of the best and that is Emilee. Trusting her is to trust the process and I’m continuously impressed with her work. I’ve done 9 sessions with her: announcements, newborn, family pictures, just to name a few. While the reason for each session has been different, the end result is always the same - perfection. She is creative, fun, personable, flexible and genuinely cares about her clients. She has captured so many moments that I will cherish forever. She is a magnificent person and amazing at what she does. We love her and I know you will too!”
